01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Open the lid of the little glass jar, and the shop's namesake creation, Harutsuge, catches the eye right away. Crafted in two delicate layers, it rests a subtly tart plum-flavoured jelly over mellow milk pudding, suspending domestic cherry blossoms and syrup-steeped cherries within. The brisk fruitiness harmonises with the gentle, creamy richness of the milk base, leaving a delightfully crisp finish that never feels heavy.

Classic textures and fragrant Japanese teas

For classic custard lovers, the lineup splits into firm and soft varieties so you can choose according to texture. The firm version increases the proportion of egg, delivering a dense, rich custard presence accented by a pleasantly bitter caramel sauce that reins in the sweetness. In contrast, the soft style unfolds with fragrant real vanilla beans and fresh dairy cream, yielding a luscious custard that dissolves smoothly on the tongue. Other offerings in small jars showcase distinct personalities, from the bittersweet depth of matcha and the roasty notes of hojicha roasted green tea to a milk strawberry layered with rich strawberry purée.

Soft-serve ice cream and refreshing matcha sodas

Beyond jarred puddings, the chilled soft-serve ice cream and drinks are well worth trying. The pudding soft-serve combines a cup of silky soft pudding with a swirl of soft-serve ice cream on top, letting you enjoy both treats together. For an invigorating pause during neighborhood strolls, there is also matcha soda brightened with lemon, as well as a matcha soda float crowned with rich ice cream, both offering deep tea character alongside sparkling refreshment.

Situated just steps away from Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, the shop features a small bench where a few guests can sit indoors. You can enjoy your chilled treat straight away on the spot or arrange for takeaway with an ice pack, making it a handy stop when picking up sweet gifts.
